Job Description

Within the Communications Solution Group, we are searching for a key engineering contributor to our 5G Applications Engineering Team. Chosen candidate will develop and deliver technical solutions to enhance customer efficiency in 4G & 5G test solutions. The successful candidate will be a bright and proactive engineer with a good theoretical and practical knowledge of RF, RF testing, physical layer, wireless protocol and possess good communication skills to define issues and present solutions. Candidate must enjoy taking on complex technical challenges and working in a customer facing environment. This role combines developing technical solutions with keen insight into understanding issues, supporting and deploying solutions.

Develop test scripts for protocol and RF testing products that Keysight is developing for 5G (5th Generation) wireless communications developed by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) standards body;
Develop and execute Protocol Carrier Acceptance (PCAT), Protocol Conformance Tests (PCT), Performance and RF measurement test cases using Keysight s Protocol R&D tool set (PRT) and Test Application (TA) based of 3GPP NR Specifications;
Develop test cases of ETSI TTCN quarterly release of 5G NR and LTE complex scenarios using scripting languages like TTCN2/TTCN3 and programming language C/C+
using Microsoft Visual studio;
Debug 3GPP 4G, 5G protocol issues, analyze logs and work with Keysight internal teams to resolve issues;
Test and Debug the full suite of Keysight products from the developer s tool set to the conformance and Inter-operability products;
Responsible for training and debugging issues for Keysight UXM based test solutions and educate customer on using Keysight s solutions in 5G NR;
Responsible for integration, validation and implementation of functional and performance test cases for 5G wireless communication standards;
Test and validate test scripts for carrier specific scenarios:
Non-Stand Alone (NSA, 4G-5G) and Stand Alone (SA, 5G), Beamforming, Beam Switching, Carrier Aggregation Handovers;
Integration, Verification and validation of RF test scripts for 5G wireless communications and following up with the R&D team;
Collaboration with key customers for the Keysight RCT/RCAT test solutions and root causing test case failures and providing technical analysis;
Execution of test cases with various devices for regression tests and baseline of performance data;
Collect test equipment logs and devices logs for troubleshooting of detected issues in the R&D stage and during collaboration sessions. Use JIRA to properly report, track and follow-up on the issues;
Perform GCF/PTCRB validation, by running test cases and providing the results to Keysight validation team;
Provide validation results and proposals to achieve validation status, for PCT, PCAT, RCT and RCAT test suites as necessary;
Report to Keysight Project/Program Manager based in Santa Clara, CA.

Job Qualifications

BS
4 years of relevant experience in telecommunications role, OR MS
3 years of relevant experience in telecommunications role.
Bachelors, Master University Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
An excellent understanding of Wireless, RF test platforms and test & measurement applications.
An excellent knowledge of the challenges associated with the development/design/testing of Protocol and RF test cases for wireless communications.
Knowledge of the 3GPP LTE-Advanced and 5GNR technologies and the 3GPP specification that defines them.
Knowledge of device conformance and certification processes.
Knowledge of the configuration and control of test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with tasks/issues management systems such as JIRA.
Experience with 4G LTE and 5G NR mobile device testing and script development on test equipment.
Proven experience creating and maintaining test tools with some of these programming languages; (C#, C+
or VB), Python.
Ability to adapt to changing product requirements during development in response to an aggressive marketplace.
Experience working across teams and geographies.
Expertise in measurements instruments automation using Python or other languages.
